The article below is a bit reactionary, but not unwarranted given the language of  the "America's Affordable Health Care Act".  One can summarize the bill by saying "there's a slippery slope being created" that could lead to a bad scenario.

Hat tip to[profile] rob_thompson  for pointing this out - his article is here.

Reactionary? Yes.

Containing no small amount of truthiness? Oh hell yeah.

While I will freely and even cheerfully admit to frequently having a knee jerk reaction to some things....this wasn't knee jerk! I've studied the Edicts for other reasons and the comparison (in my mind anyway) is perfectly valid. Still, I can see your point about reactionary!

I did say "not unwarranted". There's a dramatic series of problems with this bill down the road, you just illustrated some of the worst case scenarios.

Thanks Nathan - should have said that at the beginning; for posting this to your journal as well. I appreciate it! I sincerely hope this doesn't pass because I suspect everyone would find things a lot harder than they currently are. Cheers!

I've tried to read about the first 100 pages. Grant my legalese isn't as good as it used to be, but all I can figure out is that I'm a candidate for euthanasia. I'll never be able to have a health plan provided by my employer again...because of that whole Y1 thing...and I'm unemployed. They're going to cut off my current federal insurance when they cut the budget...and then fine me for not having any.
All win-win (detect sarcasm here).
